Join our well established multi doctor oral surgery practice. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgery Assistant to join our oral surgery team. As a Surgery Assistant, you will work closely with doctors and other clinical staff to provide high-quality patient care. Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and scribing into EMR
- Perform dental radiology prior to exam and during surgical procedures
- Surgical assisting to the doctor during procedures
- Sterilization and processing of surgical instruments
- Sterilization and turnover or patient rooms
- Post operative monitoring and instruction
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Qualifications:
- Current state licensure in dental radiology or ability to obtain one in a timely manor
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain in a timely manor
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital, EMT/Paramedic or phlebotomy setting
- Strong knowledge of dental/medical terminology prefered
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic, timeliness, reliability, a warm professional demeanor and a team player
