Job Description: Director
SUMMARY
The Director is responsible for cultivating a safe, nurturing environment while maintaining quality, developmentally appropriate curriculums for our infant, toddler and preschool education programs. The Director is responsible and accountable for the total program and services at the Early Childhood Center.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage day-to-day activities at the Early Childhood Center
· Ensure that the Early Childhood Center complies with all Illinois licensing requirements
· Collaborate with Executive Director to formulate and execution vision for the Early Childhood Center.
· Partner with Executive Director to hire, train, evaluate, supervise and dismiss teachers and staff
· Provide leadership and supervision of interactions, activities, and materials appropriate for children’s social, cognitive, emotional, intellectual and physical development
· Protect and enhance the health and safety of the children and staff at the Early Childhood Center
· Maintain an inviting physical environment which fosters optimal growth and development
· Facilitate fair admission and enrollment
· Inform and welcome parents as observers and contributors to the program
· Represent the program in the community
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education/Child Development or a bachelor’s degree in a similar discipline with at least 28 credit hours in Early Childhood Education/Child Development Early Childhood or Director Level 1 Credential. Associate degree candidates will be considered with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
· Must have leadership, management and organizational skills
· Must have NO criminal convictions for child related offenses, including neglect or abuse
