    Job Summary:

    Responsible for overall management, supervision and preparation of meals for Dietary Services compliant with Residents’ Diet Orders, menu specifications, Company Policies, Dietary /Sanitary Regulations; ensures high standards of quality in food preparation and service with consultation of Dietary Consultant; ensures accuracy of grocery orders, inventory records; ensures adequate inventory; must communicate courteously and respectfully with Employees, Residents and others; maintains high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene

    Qualifications:

    Prefer Supervisory experience in large-scale cooking and food service position; must be able to obtain and maintain any required certificates; must be in good physical condition, be able to read and write to accomplish job duties; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Commitment to providing compassionate care to our elders
    • Monitors and evaluates performance of Dietary staff; consults with Administrator prior to Disciplinary Action
    • Plans menu cycles and modifies menus for special diets as ordered by Physician
    • Completes Nutritional Assessments on new Residents; makes monthly and quarterly progress notes; visits each new Resident to obtain basic food requirements and preferences
    • Maintains current Cardex, Diet List, Diet Count; oversees and records supplemental nourishments to Residents
    • Works with Social Services and Activity Department in planning special holiday menus and activities
    • Monitors and supervises meal tray service to Residents at least one meal per day to ensure list accuracy
    • Orders food, supplies and equipment according to established budget guidelines and procedures
    • Maintains Budget records; consults with Dietary Consultant and Administrator regarding Dietary Budget
    • Writes Quality Assurance Criteria, conducts periodic audits and serves on the QA Committee as requested
    • Serves on Safety Committee, participates in Safety Meetings and Safety Audits
