Job Description:

Our licensed Before and After Care Program, Community Care Club, is seeking an After School Assistant Director. Additionally we work with CRA’s mid-day supervision program. We are looking for enthusiastic adaptable individual who has a passion for working with school age children (K-8th grade) in an engaging setting. This person will work with the Program Director to help ensure a safe environment and high level of program quality while establishing positive relationships with all children, families, and staff. The Assistant Director will be a positive and caring role model that encourages the creativity and growth of our children. 

Hours:

Full-Time: (40 hours/week) 9:00am - 5:30pm

Duties:

1. Assist Program Director with administrative responsibilities and staff management as needed. 
2. Supervise children to ensure a safe environment during the before and after school day as well as lunch and recess times. 
3. Plan, prepare, organize and lead a variety of exciting, enriching, and age appropriate projects based around students’ interests. 
4. Ensure children follow safety rules and expectations.
5. Implement positive behavior strategies and group management with respect for children. 
6. Report observations and incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) to the Program Director.
7. Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment. 
8. Inspect the school site and the equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries. 
9. Interact professionally and appropriately with children, parents, teachers, school staff, community members, and co-workers. 
10. Assist in maintaining student attendance and participation records. Administrative duties may also be included.
11. Comply with all CA state licensing guidelines and requirements. 

Qualifications:

1. At least 1 year experience working with school-aged children.
   
2. 12 ECE units required (3 units in each of the following subjects: Human Growth/Development, Curriculum/Programming, Child, Family & Community)
3.  Must pass fingerprint clearance, TB test, pre-employment physical, and provide immunization record of measles and pertussis vaccines.
4. Must complete CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and Pest Management training upon hired.COVID-19 Vaccine Required.
5. Must maintain professionalism, be flexible, and have a positive attitude.
