    We are seeking a compassionate and experienced early childhood educator to lead our team in providing exceptional care for children who have experienced significant early childhood adversity. The Circle Preschool Program Director is responsible for the management and supervision of the educational components of services within a therapeutic preschool program serving up to 14 young children who have experienced early childhood adversity and their families. They oversee the daily operations of the child care center, ensuring a safe, therapeutic, and developmentally appropriate environment.

    Duties
    • Aid in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for each child, working closely with families, therapists, and other professionals
    • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of qualified early childhood education staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment
    • Ensure Circle Preschool Program’s compliance with regulations related to licensing through the Virginia Department of Education
    • Oversee, compile, and maintain the program’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) paperwork as required by the federal food program’s standards
    • Advocate for the needs of children who have experienced trauma and early childhood adversity in the community

    Requirements
    • Master’s degree in early childhood education, early childhood special education, or other related educational field required
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in evidence-based, best practices regarding early childhood development required
    • Experience working on interdisciplinary teams preferred
    • Demonstrate leadership and management skills
    • Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and early childhood adversity and its effects on the early education experience
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
    • Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for children and staff
