Early Start Program Supervisor

  • Position Summary: Conducting on-going program reviews and modifying curriculum and data accordingly, delivery of evaluations and assessments, ensuring adherence to IFSP parameters, holding team meetings, parent training, general supervision, ensuring all program binder components and current and meeting the needs of the case and staff training. Additionally, the Life Applied Early Intervention Program Supervisor is also responsible for providing parent education and specific intervention activities according to the IFSP and monitors development of learners served.

    General Duties: The following duties are a list of basic required functions in fulfillment of the position. Additional responsibilities and expectations are developed on a case by case basis in order to meet the needs of needs of families and consumers served ensuring fidelity of program development and implementation.

    • Assessment of client/learner needs to assist in development of an IFSP under supervision of the EI Program Director.
    • Meet with EI Program Director regularly to evaluate data and ensure suggested program revisions are in adherence with evidence based practices and Title 17.
    • In collaboration with EI Program Director, determine Direct Service Staff (DSS) to be assigned or removed from EI cases. This process involves discussion of performance reviews, disciplinary issues and other managerial functions. The EI Program Supervisor will inform DSS staff of said decisions.
    • Conducting DSS staff evaluations. Following protocols and taking disciplinary action towards DSS staff as needed.
    • Scheduling and coordinating home visits and general program schedule development across multiple EI cases. Inclusive of but not limited to scheduling DDS services (across all program settings), EI Program Supervisor visits and family visits with other specialists.
    • Monitoring of DSS in delivery of all program components and data collection reliability, delivering training and recommendations as deemed necessary.
    • Collecting goal data for intensive cases.
    • Preparing and providing specialized training and instructional materials for parents, care givers and DSS staff.
    • Travel to home and other community settings, as required, to deliver and/or evaluate delivery of EI programs.
    • Attend staff meetings, trainings, in-services, IFSP’s and other EI case relevant meetings.
    • In collaboration with EI Program Director, author relevant service and assessment reports, deliver quarterly, bi-annual and functional assessments, create proposed IFSP objectives, evaluate prospective clients/learners, author lessons, determine appropriate contingencies, schedules of reinforcement and other instructional methods.
    • Serve as a liason (when appropriate) between the family and other professionally involved team members and agencies.
    • Create and maintain all components of each EI cases program binder.

    Professional Development and Training Duties:

    • Assess staff training needs making recommendations and giving feedback.
    • Oversee new staff completion of infant and toddler child care training courses, administer post-module quizzes.
    • Deliver new hire Staff Training #1 Part A determining staff competence in topics addressed.
    • Delivery of 1:1 new hire training reviewing curricula and service techniques utilized by the LAEIP.
    • Schedule new hire observation/overlap sessions.
    • Oversee all associated EI staff in implementation of behavioral programming and IFSP to ensure delivery meets standards of Department of Developmental Services and Title 17.
    • Reviewing effectiveness of and report findings regarding in-home parent training modules to EI Program Director.
    • Review effectiveness of and report finding regarding the infant and toddler child care training courses (requirement of new hire training) to the EI Program Director.
    • Deliver parent training modules on a 1:1 basis in home. Develop and implement other pertinent parent training activities in addition to ensuring parent overlap “guidance” delivered by DSS or self is adequately meeting the needs of the family and making modifications as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in special education, early childhood education, applied behavior analysis, psychology, childhood development or related field.
    • Three years’ experience in a human service delivery system encompassing individuals with developmental disabilities.

    Certificate, License and/or Registration Requirements: The following is a list of requirements all staff working on in-home programs must meet.

    • Current California Driver’s License.
    • Ownership or access to a vehicle covered by current automobile insurance.
    • Current CPR and First Aide Certification including Infant CPR.
    • Negative TB test.
    • Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.

    Pay: $60,000 - $70,000 DOE
