The mission of Project Six/The Commons is to assist young people in gaining the comprehensive skills necessary to successfully reintegrate into their local school, community and family home. We utilizes a relationship-based treatment model, with evidence-based practice at its core. Its treatment philosophy promotes progress by teaching residents how to develop age-appropriate interpersonal skills that contribute to overall social-emotional, behavioral, and academic improvement. A safe, containing and caring environment focuses on positive ways to engage in relationships. The program is designed to support adolescents by recognizing, rewarding and building upon their strengths while helping them control and eliminate negative behaviors that interfere with learning and leading healthy, productive and satisfying lives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology or a Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology, and a California License as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker or MFT. Two years' experience in a supervisory capacity with an adolescent psychiatric population required, as well as experience in individual, group and family psychotherapy and knowledge or experience with behavior management techniques. At least one year of experience designing, implementing and evaluating programs. Strong background in consultation and staff development.
