    Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Medical Coding Educator to join our clients team (hospital/facility environment) in an onsite capacity. As a Medical Coding Educator, you will be responsible for providing training and education to medical coding professionals, ensuring their proficiency in accurate and compliant coding practices. Your role will involve conducting onsite training sessions, delivering engaging presentations, and providing ongoing support to coding staff.

    Responsibilities:
    1.Conduct Onsite Training: Deliver comprehensive training sessions to medical coding professionals, covering various aspects of medical coding guidelines, principles, and procedures. Adapt training materials to suit different learning styles and skill levels.

    2.Develop Educational Materials: Create and update training materials, including presentations, manuals, and reference guides, to facilitate effective learning and understanding of medical coding concepts. Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines and regulatory changes to ensure the accuracy of training materials.

    3.Deliver Presentations: Engage and captivate audiences through informative and interactive presentations. Clearly communicate complex coding concepts and guidelines to ensure comprehension among trainees. Encourage active participation and address questions and concerns effectively.

    4.Provide One-on-One Support: Offer individualized support and guidance to coding professionals, addressing their specific coding challenges and questions. Assist in resolving coding discrepancies, providing explanations, and clarifying coding guidelines.

    5.Evaluate Performance: Assess the progress and performance of coding professionals through quizzes, exercises, and evaluations. Provide constructive feedback to help individuals improve their coding accuracy and efficiency.

    6.Stay Updated with Industry Changes: Keep abreast of the latest updates in medical coding regulations, industry trends, and reimbursement methodologies. Incorporate relevant changes into training programs and ensure that coding professionals are aware of any updates.

    7.Collaborate with Coding Team: Work closely with the coding team to understand their training needs and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with coding managers to develop targeted training plans and address any recurring coding issues or knowledge gaps.

    8.Monitor Compliance: Promote adherence to coding guidelines, standards, and regulations within the organization. Monitor coding practices to ensure compliance with applicable coding systems, such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in health information management, Health Administration, or a related field. A Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or CIC certification is highly preferred.
    • Extensive experience in medical coding, with a deep understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
    • Proven experience in delivering training sessions and educational programs, preferably in a healthcare setting.
    • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
    • Familiarity with healthcare documentation and electronic health record systems.
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
    • Proficient in using coding software and tools, such as encoders and coding reference materials.
