The clinic is affiliated with the Appalachian Institute for Health and Wellness but reporting lines are through Rehabilitation Sciences and the Beaver College of Health Sciences.Provided services of the Clinical Educator include: the evaluation and treatment of adults who have a variety of speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders; the evaluation and treatment of medically complex pediatric patients with feeding and swallowing disorders.The essential duties and responsibilities involve the assessment and treatment of adults with communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. Additional opportunities to assess and treat medically complex pediatric patients with feeding and swallowing disorders. Interaction with other disciplines (social work, occupational therapy, music therapy) in an inter-professional clinical setting. Some classroom teaching is possible but voluntary. On-call coverage at Watauga Medical Center is required one weekend per month for additional pay.
