HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
JOB PURPOSE: To improve and maintain the health of individuals, families, groups and the community by
assessing, analyzing, and evaluating community health education needs. Plan and
implement Statewide Health Improvement Partnership and other health education
programs including Mental Health and Opioid grant work.
WAGE SCALE: $28.05 - $37.95
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares, promotes and delivers health education programs.
2. Conducts community health needs assessments.
3. Coordinates and leads the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP).
4. Performs grant duties related to Mental Health and Opioid work.
5. Researches health topics and grant/funding opportunities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, representatives of other agencies, clients, and the general public. Ability to utilize effective teaching methods in relating to clients, families, groups and staff. Ability to plan and organize work for self and others. Ability to assist Department during emergency response.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education, Public Health, or related area. Fundamentals, methods and approaches used in developing and implementing assessment planning and evaluations. Subject to criminal background check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Flexibility in scheduling, including possibly evening presentations to meet community needs.
