Job Responsibilities:

• Set up & operate CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Studies prints & specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, and setup requirements.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
• Starts & observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
• Confers with engineer, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.

Job Requirements:

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Ideal candidate will have a related certificate or schooling and/or 2-3 years manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• History of quality production.
• Detail oriented and ability to exercise precise judgment.
• Conscientious about keeping work area clean and organized.
• Solid interpersonal skills, and able to work well in a team environment.
