Civil Engineer jobs in Atlantic City, NJ
Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. As a Civil Engineer at Schell Brothers you will be responsible for working with outside engineering, site work and other partners in connection with the design, planning, permitting and supervision of commercial and residential development projects. The ideal candidate will have up to 3 years of experience in residential and commercial land development design. Additional expertise in Stormwater Management (SWM), Grading, Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC) Design and value engineering are required for this position. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated performance history of taking projects from concept through final approvals and assisting in the buildout of a project. Proficiency and experience in recent versions of AutoCAD are required, Civil 3D preferred.
Requirements
1. B.S. in Civil Engineering, P.E. Certification
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3. 3 years of experience in land development, site engineering, sediment and erosion control, etc.
4. Water resources experience preferred, but not required
5. Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Civil 3D a plus
6. Experience working with municipalities and agencies for approval of projects
