May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed.     ECI has an opening for a civil engineer in our San Diego, CA office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to site development through grading design, storm water conveyance and treatment research and design, preparation of Hydrology and other storm water reports dependent on the project locality, storm drain analysis, and access road design (paved and unpaved sections, vehicle maneuvering modeling, haul road analysis, etc.), among other land development requirements. Depending on experience and interest, the Civil Engineer may perform project management functions including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, project monitoring & control, client interface, and project reporting. Occasional travel may be required.

    Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering; excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to work in a team environment; attention to detail; and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules. AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required. Additional knowledge that is preferred but not required includes retaining wall and perimeter wall design, public improvement design (i.e. curb, gutter, sidewalk, etc.), permitting, and jurisdictional specific plan preparation. Successful candidates may be subject to client mandated drug/alcohol testing and background screening, clean driving record. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
