Civil Engineer jobs in Glendale, CA
Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. - Managing construction activities and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
- Performing structural analysis and calculations to ensure the strength and stability of structures
- Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to ensure project objectives are met
- Conducting regular inspections and assessments to identify and address potential risks or issues
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in the environmental services industry
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
