Civil Engineer jobs in Oceanside, CA
Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. Job Description
The Civil Engineer will work under the direction of a Project Manager, and work with other engineers, designers, and technicians in the preparation of grading, roadway, site development, and utility (sewer, water, and storm drain) plans and reports. Other tasks will include project property research, preliminary designs and tentative maps, boundary and easement plotting, as well as survey and construction staking calculations.
Requirements:The Civil Engineering candidate should have:* A minimum of 1 year of relevant design experience* A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field* Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills (proficiency in MicroStation a plus)* Knowledge of hydrology and water quality design* Proficiency in MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)* Good oral and written skillsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
