Location

Stantec is looking for a Project Engineer to join our California Central Coast team. We have local offices located in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, Bakersfield, and Fresno. If you are looking to work in an office environment without having to relocate, we likely have an office location (https://www.stantec.com/en/offices/united-states-locations) near you. Your Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical specialist and consultant to the transportation engineering discipline on transportation-related projects.
• Designs roadway geometric horizontal and vertical alignments.
• Designs road striping.
• Prepares construction items quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis.
• Contribute to the preparation of traffic engineering studies and reports.
• Project design engineer on local municipality transportation projects.
• Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of reports and project design elements including plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Produce detailed, high-quality final design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.
• Utilizes CAD software in development of two- and three-dimensional models of roadway design.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Licensed Professional Engineer in California, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, locally accepted hydrology and hydraulic programs, etc.)
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Salary Range(s):

• $108,000 - $162,000 (CA, CO, WA locations only)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
