Civil Engineer plans, designs, and supervises the construction and maintenance of building and infrastructure projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Analyzes the design effectiveness and structural reliability of major projects including assessing and testing materials. Being a Civil Engineer performs the necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Estimates costs including personnel and material needs, prepares proposals, and establishes completion dates. Additionally, Civil Engineer may also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. May participate in an engineering or professional development program. May be working towards obtaining a Professional Engineer License (PE). Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced and talented Civil Engineer to join our team. In addition to supporting projects throughout New England, these positions will support our clients and firm offices nationwide. Unique career advancement opportunity within an engaging, dynamic, and expanding multi-disciplinary group.
Position responsibilities include supporting diverse projects involving land development and other related Civil Engineering tasks in commercial, industrial, and Federal markets. This position will lead engineering and design responsibilities for multiple projects ranging in construction value from $100k to $80M. Supervision of junior engineers and sub-consultants including surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and environmental engineers.
