As an Entry Level Civil Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) Gold River (Sacramento) office, you’ll support in-office and field activities primarily associated with environmental assessments, renewable energy (RNG, LTE, solar), aggregate facilities, industrial facilities, solid waste landfills and transfer station facilities. You'll have the opportunity to work across various disciplines including Geotechnical, Civil/Site, Environmental, and Waste Management.
In-office activities include engineering tasks such as tabulating laboratory and field test data, compilation of technical reports, and supporting various design efforts like site civil engineering, mass grading, stormwater management system design, preparing construction drawings and specifications, air space and quantity take offs and engineering cost estimates, slope stability and settlement analyses, preparing permitting documents, landfill base and cover design, and landfill gas collection system design. You may also support AutoCAD designs depending on your AutoCAD experience.
Field activities may include observation and logging of geotechnical borings and test pits, environmental monitoring (gas, groundwater, leachate, air), Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) tasks such as construction monitoring and documenting landfill cell, cap, and gas collection system construction, and use of equipment for monitoring landfill emissions. You will interact and communicate with CEC office and field staff, clients, and contractors. This position is an in office position with up to 50% field work.
The pay range for this position is between $56,000-80,000 based on experience and location (in addition, CEC offers overtime pay and other great benefits).
