Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed.   • Sisecam Wyoming is looking for a Civil Engineer to design, plan, and supervise the construction of infrastructure projects related to the Big Island facility in Green River, Wyoming.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Consult with and provide guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff regarding engineering requirements for construction of various designs, modifications, and structural repairs.
    • Use design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs; plan and design other necessary and related systems and structures such as transportation or hydraulics.
    • Assess strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel by testing materials and soil.
    • Set design specifications by computing load and grade requirements, material stress factors, water flow rates, and similar parameters.
    • Plan projects based on the analysis of relevant materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
    • Draft and present reports on topics related to projects such as environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.
    • Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.
    • Collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure projects progress properly.
    • Collaborate with surveyors (or directs and participates in surveying) to establish installations or reference points, grades, elevations, and other factors that will affect construction.
    • Monitor project progress and ensures design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes while focusing on safety and best practices. 
    • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Licensure as professional engineer (PE).
    • Proven experience in the design, construction, and integrity management of civil engineering infrastructure.
    • Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
    • Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.
    • Thorough understanding of safety regulations related to assigned projects.
    • High level of detail and accuracy.
    • Demonstrated proactive commitment to safety.
    • Demonstrated excellent written & verbal communication, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Results oriented and self-motivated.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people at all levels of an organization.
