Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Livic Civil is looking to fill a full-time position for Civil Designer. As we continue to grow, we're always in search of fresh new talent, so feel free to reach out even if you don't quite match the position requirements. as of now, we employ multiple engineers, a few drafting professionals, a landscape architect, a traffic engineer, a structural engineer, and a previous manager of a local retail store, so we have quite the diverse staff in terms of work experience and area of expertise. Generally, if you're willing to learn, we're willing to teach you. Essential job functions include:
Perform all necessary analysis, design and detailed tasks for site development, roadway, utilities and stormwater projects.
Utilize AutoCAD drafting software to prepare land development plans, construction documents and details.
Coordinate with utility companies to arrange and design appropriate utilities for development projects.
Perform quantity take-off analysis from constructive documents.
Complete reports to supplement engineer design, including due diligence and stormwater reports.
Provide regular project status updates to project managers and, occasionally, clients.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Civil Engineering/Civil Engineering Technology or related field OR 1-5 years of experience in a similar role
Experience with AutoCAD, Hydraflow, MS Word and MS Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1-5 years of relevant engineering experience
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
