Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. A premier Design-Build contractor that has constructed a wide variety of large and small commercial, industrial, educational, and healthcare projects is seeking a Civil Engineer for their Sidney, Dayton or Columbus, OH location. Functioning as a small to medium design department with internal architectural, and civil design staff, the position will work with our current civil designers to design and draft a variety of projects from zoning review and preliminary site layout through construction documents.

- Design and help draft asphalt and concrete paving and slabs.
- The position will work with customers, zoning officials, outside consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers as well as our internal staff of architectural and civil designers, sales, estimating, operations, and superintendents.
- Manage internal survey crews.
Qualifications:- BS in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain it within a year.
- Minimum 3 years' experience performing civil design or engineering work.
- Proficient and well versed in Civil 3D/AutoCAD. Revit experience a plus.
- Must have problem-solving skills, with an understanding of construction and surveying, and a willingness to meet with our customers to understand their civil design needs.
- Organized with good communication skills.
- Deadline and detail-oriented, with a customer focus.
- Concrete and structural steel design or engineering experience is a plus.
Anticipated total compensation: 100K-135K
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
