Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed.     Responsibilities:

    • Work on high-profile and challenging infrastructure projects
    • Perform engineering design tasks such as roadway and bridge design under the direction of an experienced Project Manager. 
    • Perform routine bridge inspections.
    • Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
    • Manage and maintain project documentation.

    Qualifications:

    • BS or higher in Civil Engineering
    • 0-3 years of experience
    • This role will support our DFW, Tyler or Waco Texas offices.
    • Fundamental of Engineering Engineer Intern Certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months from date of hire
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Good interpersonal and customer service skills

    Work Environment

The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 20 pounds. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
