Civil Engineering Supervisor jobs in Bremerton, WA

Civil Engineering Supervisor supervises a team of civil engineers who design and develop construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, and roads. Ensures maintenance of equipment and adherence to safety prevention measures. Being a Civil Engineering Supervisor monitors personnel needs and schedules staff accordingly. Also responsible for preparing proposals, establishing completion dates and cost estimates, and evaluation results. Additionally, Civil Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically requires the Certified Professional Engineer (PE) credential. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Individual must be a punctual, dependable, self-motivated, team player with a strong awareness of safety. Typical work environments include all types of marine and industrial worksites such as dry docks, piers, wharfs and waterfront building structures on Naval Facilities and other state and federal sites. The initial need for this position is for ongoing projects at the various locations of Naval Base Kitsap.
    Position requirements:
    • Equipment Operator Certifications
    • Valid driver license
    • Ability to pass drug screening (at time of hire and randomly while employed)
    • Ability to gain federal base access
    • Ability to lift 75 lbs. repeatedly
    • Ability to comply with safety standards
    • Ability to work in low lit areas
    • Ability to work in wet conditions
    • Must be willing to occasionally perform non-operator duties to assist crew
    • Must have an open schedule (available early mornings, nights, weekends if project requires)
