Civil Engineering Supervisor supervises a team of civil engineers who design and develop construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, and roads. Ensures maintenance of equipment and adherence to safety prevention measures. Being a Civil Engineering Supervisor monitors personnel needs and schedules staff accordingly. Also responsible for preparing proposals, establishing completion dates and cost estimates, and evaluation results. Additionally, Civil Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically requires the Certified Professional Engineer (PE) credential. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Qualifications:
To be eligible for the internship, you must be working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology or a related field and have completed your sophomore year in this field of study. A working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
You must demonstrate a capacity for learning, exhibit effective communication skills, and possess strong time management and organizational abilities.
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds and be on your feet for long periods of time. Driver’s license and insurable driving record required.
Salary: $20 - $24 per hour
