Civil Engineering Supervisor jobs in Longview, TX

KSA is searching for a full-time, in-office Survey Technician (S.I.T.), under the general direction of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS), is responsible for performing surveying and surveying related activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Produces various land-related documents including topographic, boundary, plats, and easements
• Completes survey calculations, analyses, and final map checking
• Interfaces with project managers and survey party chief to ensure timely and accurate project completion
• Resolves project and/or survey discrepancies
• Pull deeds and lot descriptions from courthouse or internet
• Interprets maps, construction drawings, and legal descriptions
• Analyzes and reviews data gathered by field crews to ensure completeness and accuracy of survey information
• Uses survey data to generate coordinate files for use in determining property lines, benchmarks, topographical features, cross-sections, field notes, quantities of materials used, and metes and bounds descriptions.
• Prepares scale drawings and plans for various construction projects, rights-of-way, easements, or boundary determinations.
• Prepares and reviews easements, property descriptions, plans, ordinances, and agreements.
• Research ownership, right-of-way, and other property issues.
• Performs complex mathematical calculations using Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry
• Performs related work as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mathematics or a related field; or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field plus (2) years’ experience under the direction of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS)
• Professional registration(s) as appropriate for discipline
• Expert knowledge in Auto-CAD
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong working knowledge of math
• Undertake self-development activities
• Demonstrate exceptional research and analytical skills
