Civil Engineering Supervisor supervises a team of civil engineers who design and develop construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, and roads. Ensures maintenance of equipment and adherence to safety prevention measures. Being a Civil Engineering Supervisor monitors personnel needs and schedules staff accordingly. Also responsible for preparing proposals, establishing completion dates and cost estimates, and evaluation results. Additionally, Civil Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically requires the Certified Professional Engineer (PE) credential. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. We are currently looking for a full-time Civil Engineering Technician to join our team.
This position involves testing of construction materials, such as concrete, asphalt, soils and masonry. Projects range in the areas of residential, commercial, and industrial development as well as municipal and transportation infrastructure.
Experience is not necessary but preference will be given to those with current MDOT certifications. Candidates must have valid drivers license without restrictions, must be able to manage time efficiently, work well in a team environment, and demonstrate integrity and high ethical standards with a good attitude.
Candidates should demonstrate the following skills: high aptitude for math, above average writing skills with a high degree of accuracy, excellent customer service skills, ability to follow directions, compliance will all safety rules and the ability to work overtime, nights and weekends as necessary.
Candidates must also be able to climb ladders, regularly lift up to 75 pounds, and be able to travel over night when needed.
Salary will be dependent upon experience and/or current certifications.
