Civil Engineering Technician jobs in Jacksonville, FL

The ideal candidate shall have experience in real estate transactions, executive administration, construction permit application process and interaction with regulatory agencies (City/County, SJRWMD, FDEP, FDOT) associated with civil engineering plans (paving, grading, drainage, utilities) and site land development industry. The candidate shall be responsible for organization of projects (both digital and paper), processing of permit applications, preparation of response to contractor and agency requests for additional information. The Permit Coordinator will provide the backbone of project scheduling and approval efforts and will coordinate directly with the principal civil engineer in charge for proper allocation of company resources to ensure timely completion of all activities and deliverables during the various stages of multidisciplinary design projects.

Principal Accountability:

• Extremely strong collaboration and communication skills
• Strong understanding of engineering office administration
• Ability to oversee numerous projects efficiently and effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Proficient in Adobe Suite of Products (Photoshop, etc)
• Relationships with local contractors and governmental agencies to Northeast Florida preferred
• Maintain the chart of current permit applications
• Maintain the production schedule of the office
• Candidate shall possess extremely strong collaboration and communication skills
• Candidate shall possess strong organizational skills
• Candidate shall possess strong understanding of civil engineering plans – grading, utilities
• Candidate shall possess understanding of proper protocol in the field and documentation as required per contracts
• Candidate shall possess ability to oversee numerous project efficiently and effectively
• Candidate shall be proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel

Desired Qualifications: The candidate should have an Associate's degree or equivalent business experience, as well as knowledge of permit application processing.
