We're in search of an accomplished Director of Claims to currently provide claims and TPA oversight while ultimately spearheading the establishment of our claims department from the ground up.  This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with deep commercial P&C claims experience and strong leadership skills to make a significant impact and grow with Honeycomb at its unprecedented growth rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and own the entire claims management process, working closely with our TPA with oversight of current claims and building an in-house claims management infrastructure for the longer term. 
• Design and implement strategies to optimize claims processing, enhance efficiency, and minimize costs while maintaining quality standards and customer experience.
• Help us perfect the product offering and be in constant contact with our end customers and partners to ensure customer satisfaction and retention and drive the next wave of product innovations.
• Collaborate closely with underwriting, legal, product, and other internal stakeholders to address complex claims issues and ensure timely and accurate resolution.
• Cultivate positive relationships with insureds, claimants, brokers, and external partners to promote satisfaction and loyalty.
• Provide underwriting and coverage insights to internal stakeholders to continuously protect profit margins

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial property and casualty claims management 
• Previous proven experience in establishing and leading successful claims processes 
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional designation (e.g., CPCU, AIC, ARM) preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of insurance principles, coverages, and regulations, with expertise in commercial property and casualty lines.
• Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of building and leading teams in dynamic settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex insurance policies and legal documents.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, including negotiation skills and conflict resolution expertise.
• Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools is advantageous.
• Ability to adapt to change, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
