Claims Director directs and oversees the operations of an insurance claims department to meet operational, financial, and service requirements. Establishes policies and procedures for the administration of insurance claims for personal, property, or casualty loss based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage. Being a Claims Director is responsible for the strategic processing and payment of claims. Maintains up-to-date- knowledge of legislation, regulations, and industry events which pertain to insurance claims. Additionally, Claims Director provides expert guidance and consultation to staff on the most complex claims. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Claims Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Candidates must bring with them solid experience in managing property claims, with a proficiency utilizing Xactimate and Xactanalysis. Liability experience a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Property Claims: The majority of involvement in these claims will be handed from the desk at our Merritt Island office. Involvement can range from cradle to grave remote claims handling and handling supplements and personal property valuations to overseeing field personnel and ensuring the quality of the final work product.
2. Liability Claims: Although the primary focus will be property claims, we do handle a significant volume of general liability claims as well. You will occasionally be tasked with the management or the direct handling of these claims.
3. Administrative Acumen: Generate meticulous reports, analyze external submissions, and cultivate robust client relationships.
4. Expanding Your Skillset: While property claims are at the core of this role, you will be involved in handling many types of other claims ranging from aviation and marine to commercial general liability and bodily injury claims.
