What You’ll Do:
Reviews, investigates, evaluate and settles claims for bodily injury and property damages.  Determines liability for USX and affiliated companies and sets reserves for payment within prescribed authority.   Manage claims costs through negotiation

• Determines liability for claims involving damage to third party property and/or bodily injury. Minimizes company exposure and cost while maximizing corporate identity.
• Requests and gathers evidence necessary to process claim. Assigns an independent adjuster to cases as needed and coordinates activities of independent adjuster. 
• Determines if there are preexisting damages or medical conditions that would limit liability. Determines credibility of claimants and drivers. 
• Determines value of damages to property and persons. Sets and updates reserve amounts. 
• Stays alert to possible claims escalations due to medical complications. Attempts to circumvent litigation through careful case management   Negotiates settlements with claimants for property damage, bodily injury within prescribed authority.
• Requests additional settlement authority from management when case settlement value exceeds reserve limits. Processes and negotiates settlements of such claims, keeping management apprised on claim status.   
• May help build a defense for litigation by providing all supporting documents to attorneys and management such as witness accounts, expert testimonies, etc.
• Acts as point of contact for claimants and relevant parties to accident. Answers questions that may arise about the claim and keeps all relevant parties up to date on status of claim. Handles rebuttal claims.
• 24 hour on-call rotation for DOT accidents.

What We’re Looking For:
Education
