Claims Examiner, Sr. reviews, evaluates, and processes insurance claims and makes recommendations for resolution. Examines and authorizes insurance claims investigated by insurance adjusters. Being a Claims Examiner, Sr. studies reports prepared by adjusters and similar claims to determine the extent of insurance coverage and validity of the claim. Communicates with agents, claimants, and policy holders. Additionally, Claims Examiner, Sr. determines settlement according to organization practices and procedures. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Claims Examiner, Sr. occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     A successful Claims Coordinator shall assist the Risk Manager by researching claims, investigating incidents, and/or preparing fact sheets for claims review. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of General Liability, Auto, and Workers Compensation claims; ability to use a computer and other office related equipment; ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data.

    Essential Functions:

    In order to perform this job, you must demonstrate, either by training or experience:

    • the ability to work safely, with or without supervision;
    • the ability to read understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness;
    • excellent manual dexterity;
    • the ability to organize workload to determine priority of duties;
    • the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts;
    • the ability to function effectively in a high-stress situation;
    • the ability to work seated at a table for extended periods;

    Responsibilities:

    • Completion of low level tasks in support of an assigned department/project.
    • Receive, organize, file, and maintain documents and/or data for an assigned department/project.
    • Create, update, validate and forward various forms of communication to internal and external recipients.
    • Read, interpret, and input data in support of an assigned department/project.
    Qualifications:
    • Prior work related experience.
    • Proficient in the use of office hardware and software. (PCs, Tablets, Printers, Copiers, Microsoft, Google, etc.)
    • Excellent Customer Service skills and strong English language skills both oral and written.
    • Authorized to work in the United States.
    • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.

    Workplace Environment and Physical Demands:

    To be considered for this position, a candidate must possess the ability to sit for long periods of time, while using repetitive and/or fine hand movements to complete computer related tasks and/or other office functions.
