Claims Examiner, Sr. reviews, evaluates, and processes insurance claims and makes recommendations for resolution. Examines and authorizes insurance claims investigated by insurance adjusters. Being a Claims Examiner, Sr. studies reports prepared by adjusters and similar claims to determine the extent of insurance coverage and validity of the claim. Communicates with agents, claimants, and policy holders. Additionally, Claims Examiner, Sr. determines settlement according to organization practices and procedures. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Claims Examiner, Sr. occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. A Sr. Plans Examiner job is available with the City of Fort Worth Development Services Department Plans Exam Division. The Planning and Development Department seeks to make Fort Worth the most livable city in Texas by promoting orderly growth and development, safe construction and neighborhood vitality. The plans exam division helps complete this mission by performing a variety of technical duties in reviewing, approving and processing building applications in assigned area, including building, zoning, electrical, plumbing and mechanical. With a staff of thirteen employees, the plans exam division reviews a diverse mix of commercial and residential projects for conformance to building codes and laws. Projects include single family homes, thirty story high-rise buildings, and museums by world renowned architects, mixed-use developments and everything in-between. Staff is also encouraged to explore innovative alternative solutions to address code issues and serve our customers.
