Claims Examiner, Sr. reviews, evaluates, and processes insurance claims and makes recommendations for resolution. Examines and authorizes insurance claims investigated by insurance adjusters. Being a Claims Examiner, Sr. studies reports prepared by adjusters and similar claims to determine the extent of insurance coverage and validity of the claim. Communicates with agents, claimants, and policy holders. Additionally, Claims Examiner, Sr. determines settlement according to organization practices and procedures. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Claims Examiner, Sr. occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Summary

    The role of the intake position is to ensure that new leads are processed timely and a case is developed in Maestro within five (5) business days of receipt of the lead. The position

    reviews all incoming correspondence for the Unit.

    Your role in our mission

    • Open, stamp and distribute incoming mail and interoffice mail once a day to appropriate team member for handling
    • Identify new leads from existing correspondence
    • Document the history tab with receipt of correspondence
    • Distribute correspondence on existing cases to appropriate team member for handling
    • Mail out Status letters to Liable Third Party
    • Distribute Request for Record Forms among staff for review
    • Approve checks for deposit for the Unit
    • Other duties relating to office maintenance may be assigned

    The pay range for this position is $32,700.00 - $46,700.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
