Med-Pay, Inc. in Springfield, Missouri is hiring a full-time Medical Claims Examiner to join their team.

• As a third-party administrator, Med-Pay provides quality medical, dental and vision claims processing and reporting capabilities. Additionally, Med-Pay, Inc. offers a variety of other services including benefit plan compliance, claim accounting, network re-pricing, managed care coordination, reinsurance intermediary services, chronic disease management programs, wellness consulting, Family Medical Leave (FML) administration and more.

Primary Responsibilities:
The Medical Claims Examiner has the responsibility to ensure the member’s insurance policy benefits are processed accurately and timely. In doing so, the Claims Examiner must review each claim to determine the appropriate course of action based on the nature of a member’s illness or injury.

Qualifications:
•Ability to understand multiple medical insurance products and multiple levels of benefits within each product to make accurate claim processing decisions.
•Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with ability to manage time and prioritize workload effectively.
•Strong Keyboarding skills with above average accuracy.
•10-Key by touch skills with above average accuracy.
•Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices helpful.
•Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT & HCPC code sets helpful.
•Above basic computer skills with Windows PC systems and applications.
•Above basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Two or more years of related experience preferred but not required.
•An education level of at least a high school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
•Ability to work independently in a solitary manner for long periods of time is essential
•Extended periods of sitting at a computer and repetitive use of hands/fingers.
•Office environment.
