POSITION SUMMARY 

Our mission is to help fight sepsis by providing a rapid Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing solution. The primary purpose of this position is to develop image processing related tools and algorithms to perform signal analysis and classification. The work product will be used internally as well as in production, in the medical device space.  

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Develop image processing and camera control algorithms, pipelines, and HW-friendly imaging technologies.
• Participate in a full development cycle, from inventing the original concepts up to their productization, including active involvement in testing and verification processes.
• Research new technologies and analyze competition solutions.
• Participate in system requirements definitions.
• Review technical literature, collect data, and specify solution options.
• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document algorithm options.
• Implement and optimize algorithm designs in SW and assist with HW design. 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

1. S in in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics required.
2. MS or PhD. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics preferred.
3. Python, C, and OpenCV programming and code optimization experience (3 years)
4. 3 Years’ Experience in color science, Image and signal processing algorithm development, including low light imaging, noise reduction, image stabilization, defect and distortion correction.
5. Excellent verbal communication and technical documentation writing skills
6. Self-starter with the ability to work in a team as well as independently.
7. Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
8. Strong signal and image processing and mathematical background.

WORKING CONDITIONS 

Domestic travel requires 10 % of time.

International travel required <5 % of time. 

BENEFITS

The estimated salary range for this role based in California is between $ 119,500 and $ 152,400 annually. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
