Claims Processing Clerk, Sr. jobs in Shreveport, LA

NOTE: background in steel/metals industry strongly preferred but not required.

Your primary job tasks and responsibilities include:

• Taking customer orders and properly entering them into our data base
• Closing completed work orders, making sure the math is right, and updating the system
• Regularly interacting with customers via e-mail and phone
• Invoicing customers
• Overseeing the updating of your customer's inventory
• Taking certain items out into the plant to deliver to employees
• Building a rapport with plant workers while occasionally providing light assistance to learn about the materials and products we utilize

Your secondary job tasks and responsibilities may include:

• Maintaining correct locations for various materials in all four company buildings on site
• Tracking inventory of steel and aluminum coils
• Maintaining logistics in accordance to supervisors in certain buildings
• Learn basic shipping and receiving controlling such as sign in truckers and create Bills of Lading
• Take pictures of certain products, upload to company system, keep properly labeled

You need to have the following skills:

• Excellent attention to detail
• Great mathematical ability
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly-moving workplace environment
• Great short-term, working memory
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
• The ability to learn a computer system and type
• Great written and spoken communication skills
• Superior listening skills
• Comfort with working in and office and going out into a warehouse

This job has growth potential that will head more into customer relations and account management over time.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5:30 PM.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
