Position Summary:
Processing responsibilities include unpacking items from the original shipping cartons, performing random quality checks, counting, repacking the items into chicken boxes/gaylords and other miscellaneous warehouse duties as directed by the Processing Supervisor.
This position supports and contributes to the Ten Thousand Villages mission by:
Ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of products from the time of arrival from our artisan partners around the world until the receipt of the products by our end customers.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
Processing Room Duties (90%)
· Help with unpacking, pricing, repacking and palletizing of shipments
· Verify item quantities and provide accurate counts to the Processing Supervisor
· Perform periodic quality inspections as directed by the Processing Supervisor
· Make sure tags are attached in the proper manner and location on the product
· Help with day volunteers and work groups
· Observe all safety protocol and contribute to a safe working environment
· Help/assist with lamp assembly as instructed by supervisor
Assist as needed in other departments (10%)
· Assist with picking/packing orders in wholesale or e-commerce
· Assist with processing or putting away returns
· Perform additional duties/responsibilities as requested which contribute to the position’s success and the mission
Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Education/Skills/Abilities:
· Accuracy in counting and ability to work well with numbers
· Good manual dexterity
· Warehouse experience
· Ability to work with volunteers and senior citizens

Physical Requirements:
· This job operates in a normal warehouse environment protected from outside weather conditions but exposed to varying temperatures, moving vehicles, and dust.
· This role requires the ability to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally and requires the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Noise level may be loud at times.
· This role requires constant movement, repetitive motion, and use of limbs to stoop, reach, push, pull, finger, and grasp objects of varying size and texture. Standing and walking for extended periods of time and both hearing and talking abilities are required.
