  • POSITION OVERVIEW

    Custodian and building maintence team members are responsible for ensuring a clean and safe environment for employees and clients.

    This position cleans the contact center floor, restrooms and offices as well as ensuring basic building maintenence. Custodians are responsible for project cleaning and any other employee identified needs.

    The ultimate responsibility of custodians is to ensure that employees and clients are impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT IS A CUSTODIAN AND WHAT DO THEY DO ALL DAY?

    In addition to being an all-around asset to the team, custodians are responsible fora positive employee and client experience by ensuring that facilities are clean, organized and maintained.

    In this role you will be responsible for a variety of cleaning and building maintenance tasks that involve use of hazardous chemicals and heavy lifting.

    Some specific responsibilities include :

    • Empty wastebaskets and remove trash from bldg. daily.
    • Dust furniture and surfaces weekly.
    • Polish stainless steel surfaces and clean entrance glass daily.
    • Dustmop and vacuum floors daily.
    • Thoroughly wet mop hallway / public area floors weekly.
    • Remove and replace bulbs as needed.
    • Pick up trash and sweep exterior entrances.
    • Clean restrooms and wet mop restroom floors
    • Wet clean and disinfect surfaces and fixtures daily.
    • Refill restroom soap, tissue, towels.
    • Provide restorative services when emergencies arise, to include working alternate hours.
    • Move, assemble and maintain office furniture
    • Assist IT Desktop Support with movement of computers for new turn-ups
    • Hang pictures, posters and other wall hangings as required
    • Proactively seek opportunities to improve cleanliness, appearance and operation to further enhance the guest’s experience

    NOTE

    This job will require : bending, stooping, reaching, standing, lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling and repetitive tasks.

    Janitors must be able to lift and handle objects weighing 50lbs or more in a safe manner (repeatedly) as well as standing (in place or moving) up to 100% of their shift.

    Required

    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Experience with data-entry utilizing a computer
    • The ability to read and speak English fluently
    • Have a wired, high-speed internet connection (Download speed of 20Mbps )
    • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
    • The ability to type swiftly and accurately (20 words a minute)
    • Ability to work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation including the training period.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
    • Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications and the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
    • Highly reliable with the ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality
    • The ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, and follow-up on customer issues
    • An aptitude for conflict resolution, problem solving and negotiation
    • Ability to multi-task, stay focused, and self-manage
    • Strong team orientation and customer focus
    • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where change and ambiguity are prevalent
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with your team and customers

    Preferred (Not Required)

    • One (1) year of experience in customer service, technical support, inside sales, back-office, chat, or administrative support in a contact center environment
    • State or Federal work experience

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
