Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Claims Processing Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :The following qualification(s) MUST be met and clearly detailed on the Saratoga Springs application form on or before the last filing date:      
     
    • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma AND six (6) years of full time paid experience (or its part time paid 20hour per week equivalence) in commercial property and casualty insurance, risk management techniques and safety administrations OR
    •  Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree AND four (4) years of full time paid experience (or its part time paid  20hour per week equivalence) in commercial property and casualty insurance, risk management techniques and safety administrations  OR
    • Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s Degree AND two (2) years of full time paid experience (or its part time paid  20hour per week equivalence) in commercial property and casualty insurance, risk management techniques and safety administrations  
     
    DUTIES: 
    • The Claims Coordinator reviews, investigates and manages claims made against the City. The position obtains and reviews confidential information, negotiates claims, reviews contracts, establishes and manages policies and procedures for accident reports an claims handling, and works with the City’s insurance broker and carrier regarding coverage. 
    • The Claims Coordinator performs relation work as required. The Claims Coordinator supports all City departments. The position is appointed by and under the general supervisions of the Mayor. The position is within the City Attorneys Office and receives direct and administrative supervision from the City Attorney.
