    About the role:

    Reporting to the Head of Digital Mobile Platform, the Director of Mobile Quality Engineering will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. In a leadership role in the Digital Technology organization, you will be responsible for transforming our talent and driving the quality of next generation digital products. With a focus on mobile quality and automation, you will collaborate closely with product leaders, and other stakeholders to align on product milestones and deliver innovative digital applications and experiences. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the company's digital transformation journey, drive customer-centric innovation, and position the organization as a leader in the competitive digital banking landscape.

    What you will be doing:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive quality strategy for mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, ensuring high standards of reliability, performance, usability, and security.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the mobile quality engineering team, overseeing test planning, execution, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Evaluate, implement, and maintain testing frameworks, tools, and technologies for functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and automated testing of mobile apps.
    • Automation and CI/CD Integration:** Drive automation efforts for mobile app testing, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring efficient and reliable testing processes throughout the development lifecycle.
    • Define and track key quality metrics, test coverage, defect rates, and performance benchmarks for mobile apps, and provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with UX/UI design teams to conduct usability testing, accessibility testing, and user feedback analysis, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience across mobile platforms.
    • Work closely with security teams to implement and execute security testing, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks for mobile apps, addressing data protection and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, product management, and other teams to align quality goals, prioritize testing efforts, and drive continuous improvement in development processes.
    • Promote and enforce quality assurance best practices, standards, and methodologies within the mobile engineering organization, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and career development opportunities for the mobile quality engineering team, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and professional growth.
    • Evaluate third-party testing tools, services, and vendors, and make recommendations for adoption based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
    • Identify areas for process improvement, automation opportunities, and efficiency gains in quality assurance practices, and drive initiatives to enhance overall testing effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Maintain a customer-centric approach to quality engineering, incorporating user feedback, analytics, and market insights into quality assurance strategies and improvement efforts.

    What you will need:

    • Proven experience in leading and managing quality engineering teams, including recruitment, training, performance management, and career development.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor teams towards achieving quality goals and driving continuous improvement.
    • Extensive experience in quality assurance (QA) methodologies, processes, and best practices, particularly in the context of mobile app development.
    • In-depth knowledge of testing frameworks, tools, and automation techniques for functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and security testing of mobile apps.
    • Hands-on experience in implementing and managing automated testing frameworks and tools for mobile apps, including CI/CD integration using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Shell) for test automation and task automation in a mobile app environment.
    • Solid understanding of mobile app development technologies, architectures, and platforms (iOS, Android), including knowledge of mobile app design principles, user experience (UX) considerations, and mobile-specific challenges.
    • Ability to define and track key quality metrics, test coverage, defect rates, and performance benchmarks for mobile apps, and generate insightful reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
    • Experience in leveraging analytics, user feedback, and market insights to drive quality improvements and prioritize testing efforts based on user impact and business goals.
    • Knowledge of mobile app security best practices, encryption standards, authentication mechanisms, and secure coding principles, with experience in implementing security testing and compliance checks.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and their implications on mobile app quality assurance and testing processes.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including development, QA, DevOps, product management, and senior leadership.
    • Ability to articulate technical concepts, quality strategies, testing results, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Relevant certifications in quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB, ASQ), test automation (e.g., Selenium, Appium), agile methodologies, or mobile app development would be beneficial.

    • Proven experience in leading and managing mobile engineering teams, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
    • Extensive hands-on experience in mobile app development across iOS and Android platforms, with a deep understanding of mobile technologies, architectures, and frameworks.
    • Proficiency in mobile development languages such as Swift, Kotlin, Java, and frameworks/libraries like React Native, Flutter, or native development tools.
    • Knowledge of mobile app design principles, user experience (UX) best practices, and accessibility standards to drive user-centric product development.
    • Demonstrates judgment and flexibility; thinks about issues and develops solutions that thoughtfully take the broader context into account - positively deals with a shifting demand for time, priorities, and the rapid change of environments.

    FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $143,040.00 - $240,310.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
