Claims Quality Audit Director directs and oversees the operations of the claims quality audit department to follow the audit policies, procedures and regulation.     Position Overview: The Director of Claims manages all claims operations. Including Commercial Auto Liability, Cargo, Physical Damage, and Recovery claims teams, to ensure prompt and equitable claim service is provided to customers in accordance with internal and external policies, standards, and requirements.

    Schedule: Monday- Friday | 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

    Responsibilities:

    • Hires, trains, mentors, and supervises multiple claims teams to ensure customer service, file quality, and productivity objectives are met.
    • Monitors claims files to evaluate quality of investigation; coverage analysis; identification of liability/compensability and damages; documentation and reporting; accurate and timely reserving; and goal-oriented action planning.
    • Monitors claim file data quality for accuracy. Provides technical advice and identifies coaching opportunities to enhance file quality and individual job performance.
    • Creates reports & analytics for various audiences, including staff, management, and executives as appropriate.
    • Serves as the business administrator for a SaaS based claim system.
    • Maintains relationships with outside vendors/partners and evaluates against broader market on a regular basis. Assists in onboarding of new vendors, technology, or services.
    • Regularly audits claim files to verify they follow internally established guidelines. Creates and implements effective coaching/training action plans based on results.
    • Establishes individual staff performance and development goals, measuring results, rewarding achievement, or taking corrective action as needed. Provides timely and specific feedback.
    • Develops and implements formal training and process improvement as needed.
    • Leads and participates in claims-related projects as needed.
    • Works with internal subject matter experts in the areas of operations, safety, compliance, and legal to ensure the efficient flow of information in timely manner to the claims department.
    • Works closely with legal team on litigated files or files that may lead to litigation.
    • Facilitates regular claims meetings and roundtables with relevant stakeholders and escalates specific claims as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Five plus years of claims experience, including experience in a leadership role.
    • Commercial trucking experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience working with and manipulating large amounts of data to gain insight into business operations required.
    • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Experience as a business administrator of a SaaS based claim system strongly preferred.
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    Ability to travel on an occasional basis; receive communications after business hours regarding large loss activity; organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; quickly and professionally respond to customer inquiries; effectively manage a project and/or lead a team; lead people and get results through others; communicate effectively with all levels of the organization; and attract, coach, and develop talent. Possess strong customer orientation; problem analysis and problem resolution skills; and interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills.
