    • SUMMARY:
      Supervise hourly Quality Employees on the End of Line (QC Inspectors, Packers, Material Handlers) and comply with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards. Ensures all shifts meet inventory requirements, and product is delivered in a timely manner. Manages and mentors employees in order to maintain motivation, teamwork and continuous improvement. Reports quality issues of the product in a timely manner and makes recommendations for corrective actions pertaining to production problems and quality improvements on the product.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for consistent and accurate shift to shift communication.
    • Ensure quality of the product meets customer requirements, proper labeling and proper quantity on packing.
    • Responsible for the following Key Metrics/Goals for the Department:
      • TCIR/IFR below target; Zero recordable accidents and submission of all accident reports in less than 24 hours
      • Manage the hourly Quality Employees and maintain quality levels and accurate training on foam parts and side bolsters.
      • Monitor the shift scrap and notify the pertinent areas for immediate actions.
      • Perform the pertinent Quality Product Audits and report immediate the results to Productions, Process, Maintenance, Logistics and Quality responsible in order to assure the proper communication of the findings
    • Ensure Quality Employees are following standard quality procedures.
    • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment ensuring that all safety instructions are followed.
    • Continuously monitor product quality.
    • Inspect parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
    • Identify nonconforming material and holds material for further review by upper management.
    • Prepare and conduct quality product audits (complete boxes).
    • Ensure employees are trained to perform various job tasks.
    • Review and work with employees to set common goals and give direction needed to help assist them in meeting their goals.
    • Complete end-of-shift paperwork.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Must have working knowledge of quality containments and customer requirements through inspection of parts. This individual will be responsible for leading quality systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process, and executing long-term strategic plans. Must be self-motivated and possess well-developed leadership skills.

    Minimum Requirement:

    • High School Education and one to five (7 to 10) years of progressive manufacturing experience and proven success in supervision.

    Preferred:

    • (3 to 5) years of progressive supervisory experience


    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions.

    • Ability to write work instructions and other procedures as needed.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    • Possible release agent material, anti- squeal and dust particle exposure in the environment.
    • Traveling from plant to plant (Fehrer, Supplier, Customer), including international travel may be required.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Normal amount of sitting and standing, above average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.

    • Works with the CEO, Plant Manager, Program Manager, Quality Manager, Process Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Production Manager, Line Leads, line personnel and quality staff.
