Having a BPS Needs Assessment performed at a youth's home or community setting is essential to initiating services within the NJ Children's System of Care (CSOC). The assessment is conducted in a home or community setting. As part of his or her responsibilities, the BPS Needs Assessor identifies the most appropriate resources and/or services for youth (ages 5-21) and their caregivers. BPS Needs Assessors are independent, licensed clinicians who meet with youth and their families to determine their treatment needs and plan a range of mental health services for them.

To become a BPS Needs Assessor, individuals must hold a valid NJ license in a mental health field, such as psychology, social work, or counseling. They should also have experience working with children, teenagers, and families. Additionally, effective communication and assessment skills are crucial for accurately identifying youth needs and developing appropriate treatment plans. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in counseling, experience working with young people, knowledge of the NJ Children's System of Care, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of youth.

This opportunity is available on a per-diem basis and offers flexible scheduling.
