Claims Quality Auditor audits claims for coding accuracy, benefit payment, contract interpretation, and compliance with policies and procedures. Selects claims through random processes and/or other criteria. Being a Claims Quality Auditor makes recommendations to improve quality, workflow processes, policies and procedures. Typically requires an associate degree. Additionally, Claims Quality Auditor typically reports to a supervisor or a manager. The Claims Quality Auditor gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Under the direction of the Claims Oversight Supervisor, the Internal Claims Oversight Auditor is responsible for ensuring the compliance of IEHP’s claims payment system and processes by auditing claim payments using standard principles and State and Federal regulations. The auditors are also responsible for documenting and reporting findings and ensuring appropriate actions have been taken to resolve payment issues with the affected departments within IEHP, in addition to collaboration with, inter-departments to ensure member needs are met while simultaneously building strong peer relationships.
