The Claims Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operation of our Mechanical Claims Department. This individual ensures that the team of Claims Adjusters accurately and efficiently adjudicates claims and is responsible for the coaching and development of staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures team members accurately and efficiently adjudicate claims
• Monitors productivity and claim volume to ensure proper balance, consistency, and quality control
• Works with internal and external contacts to resolve complex and escalated issues
• Fields escalated phone calls
• Involved in the recruitment and hiring of new team members
• Oversees training of new team members
• Fosters employee improvement through feedback and encouragement
• Handles tracking of employee time off and timecards
• Conducts employee performance reviews
• Fields incoming calls and adjusts claims as required
• Assists payment processors and dealer support as needed
• Provides authorization on claims that exceed team authorization limit
• Special projects as assigned by immediate supervisor
• Travel is minimal up to 5% for this role
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and works with management to implement changes
• Audits claims from team members on an ongoing basis, tracks findings, and provides feedback as appropriate

• High school diploma or GED and 4-5 years’ experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in business preferred
• Leadership/supervisory experience
• Claim adjudication experience
• ASE or manufacturers certifications
• Automotive industry experience
• Experience with database systems such as Alldata and On Demand software tools
• Excellent customer service and people skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill
• Excellent Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
