Food Services Clerical Technician

Temporary for the duration of the 2022-2023 year

The Food Services Department is looking to fill a temporary clerical position to assist is day-to-day operations in an office setting with assignments that include assisting in school kitchens and cafeterias. This position is temporary with the potential of permanency.

Job Description
This position will provide administrative assistance to the Food Services Department under moderate supervision. This position will organize and manage the routine work activities of a central administrative department office and provide clerical support.

Some examples of responsibilities

• Catering and outside service contracts – coordination, planning, ordering, billing/finance tracking
• Application assistance – Titan application portal and paper applications need review to ensure eligibility determination is accurate with sensitive timelines that must be met during peak season(s).
• Compliance documentation and report tracking and data entry, with precise attention to detail
• Reports tracking, data entry, filing
• Work or assist in kitchens as a food service assistant when needed – dishes, food prep, serve students and use computer or manual POS system

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Proficient skills in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and file maintenance
• Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
• Ability to prioritize workflow to address the multiple needs of the supervisor or the department
• Ability to multi-task numerous complex administrative activities
• Basic math skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Experience

• 2 years secretarial experience in an educational setting, preferred
