  • Operations Manager Responsibilities:

    • Manage and oversee operations across all Avenue Espresso locations.
    • Establish and cultivate a team culture characterized by professionalism, support, training, and continuous growth through proactive leadership and strategic planning.
    • Ensure that managers and staff recognize the importance of closing stands to prepare for the following day's opening by holding them accountable for completing opening and closing checklists.
    • Foster behaviors that cultivate a team-oriented atmosphere, encouraging employee engagement.
    • Organize and participate in quarterly Avenue Espresso crew gatherings.
    • Develop contest opportunities throughout the year for baristas to earn sales bonuses and stand dinners.
    • Deploy staff and resources effectively to maximize profitability, taking responsibility for all profit and loss.
    • Provide consistent support, coaching, and encouragement to all staff to help achieve business goals.
    • Facilitate monthly manager meetings to provide support for stand managers, collectively address any issues, and establish and refine policies and procedures.
    • Conduct candidate interviews and make decisions on hiring, termination, promotion, and other status changes.
    • Ensure diversity and inclusion in hiring and promotion decisions.
    • Develop and oversee an after-hours training program for managers to ensure that new baristas have received some introductory training before their first shift be available to provide the training if a manager or lead is unavailable.
    • Maintain 24-hour availability by phone or text for manager inquiries regarding the Focus POS system. Resolve issues personally within 24 hours if managers are unable to do so. Work with tech support for issues beyond your expertise.
    • Utilize Shift 4 and Focus systems to investigate individual charges and address customer inquiries effectively.
    • Recognize staff contributions and performance, developing and implementing plans to motivate the team.
    • Maintain adequate stock levels of office and Cash and Carry warehouse supplies at all locations.
    • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and optimal condition of the Avenue Espresso office/warehouse, keeping it well-stocked and properly maintained.
    • Provide timely delivery of emergency items to stands as required.
    • Maintain proficiency in all software used by Avenue Espresso.
    • Monitor and maintain all equipment, ensuring adherence to a routine service schedule, and promptly schedule repairs as needed. Additionally, demonstrate a proactive approach by promptly addressing minor repairs independently as feasible.
    • Respond promptly to all messages from vendors, repair technicians, managers, and baristas.
    • Ensure 24-hour availability by phone or text for manager inquiries and personally address repairs, typically within a 24-hour timeframe, encompassing various issues such as internet connectivity, building repairs, equipment glitches or failures, extended power outages, break-ins/robberies, and security camera maintenance. Additionally, promptly isolate camera footage and provide it to managers and law enforcement upon request.
    • Participate in the company's response to audits.
    • Minimize waste, record as needed, and participate in food donation programs.
    • Safely transport the espresso trailer to and from events.
    • Source products for events, manage setup and breakdown including cleaning the trailer after each event.
    • Serve as a barista at all events and provide training to new team members for proficient operation of the espresso trailer.
    • Ensure the ongoing maintenance of the trailer to preserve its functionality and appearance.
    • Embrace technology and inspire employees to utilize and adopt all new technologies implemented for Avenue Espresso.
    • Develop and implement creative strategies to increase revenue.
    • Create new recipes and refine current recipes for all drinks served at Avenue Espresso.
    • Identify and procure new products to enhance profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
    • Keep the recipe list up to date and post laminates at all locations.
    • Use good judgment and discretion to resolve customer and employee questions and problems.
    • Utilize employee strengths and provide ongoing feedback that reflects progress against individual development goals and business goals.
    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of all federal, state, and local sanitary, safety, and health standards, ensuring compliance with the law through all procedures and protocols.
    • Hold Managers accountable for ensuring all safety standards are understood and followed.
    • Create Instagram and Facebook posts advertising specials, suggested drinks, and new retail items.
      • Monitor PMs: promptly respond to all inquiries.
    • Monitor Yelp and Google reviews, promptly responding as necessary.
    • Highly organized individual with a proven track record of effectively managing tasks and projects.
    • Demonstrated stability in previous roles, showcasing reliability and commitment.
    • Ability to set clear expectations for oneself and others, ensuring smooth workflow and accountability.
    • Supportive attitude towards team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
    • Enthusiastic about creating and documenting organizational structures, strongly motivated to improve and optimize existing systems.
    • Motivational leadership skills to inspire and empower colleagues to achieve their best performance.
    • Computer proficiency and the ability to quickly use new programs is required.
    • Completion of a Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for a portion of the time-based experience requirement.
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in team management, delegation, and problem resolution skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple and concurrent priorities.
    • Exhibit knowledge of products, service, quality, equipment, and operational standards, or be able to demonstrate this knowledge within a reasonable time frame from hire or promotion.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English, including the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, is required.
    • Ability to understand menus and brand standards and engage comfortably in conversations with individuals.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
    • Flexibility to reach and bend while performing job duties.
    • Capability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance use the team lift technique or hand truck for heavier weights.
