Operations Manager The Operations Manager will lead the Jamb/Threshold/Transom, Header, and Panel value stream teams within the Farmington Plant. This position will be responsible for achieving the operational business objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People Development across machining and assembly disciplines within each value stream. The operations manager will directly lead a team of value stream supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers while collaborating with support teams to achieve the Plant’s Lean Transformation goals. We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented leaders that focus on execution, meet commitments, break through challenging issues, and have a passion to exceed customer expectations. What You Will Do: Creates and maintains a safe work environment and proactively solves safety issues. Engages employees and drives positive culture change by supporting their needs and rewarding and recognizing them for accomplishments. Builds and maintains a strong team. Coaches and develops direct reports and holds them accountable to meet their commitments. Ensures quality standards are being met to provide our customers defect free product. Meets on time delivery commitments to our customers. Is a pro-active change agent that drives continuous improvement and ensures sustainability. Establishes and drives standard work adherence. Maintains 5S, visual management and good housekeeping practices. Establishes and maintains staffing plans for operations to meet the business objectives. Partners with leadership team peers to meet plant objectives. Ensures MDI (Managing for Daily Improvement Process) is compliant and active. Establishes and maintains operational metrics. Leads problem solving activities, including A3’s and Kaizen events. Leads Daily Gemba walks. Meets cost objectives for the plant; achieves productivity targets, minimizes overtime and monitors discretionary spending. Apply lean manufacturing principles, drive a Kaizen culture, and engage manufacturing associates in continuous improvement events. Model, foster and drive the Allegion values. What You Need to Succeed: Bachelor’s Degree, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering preferred. 7 Years of Manufacturing Experience, 5 years of Leadership Experience. Previous experience leading Manufacturing Engineers. Experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools. Excellent team and interpersonal skills.
