Position Title: Clinic Manager-Clinical

Position Summary:
The Clinic Manager- Clinical is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the activities of the daily operations and general management of the practitioner offices in such a manner that the hospital's goals and objectives are achieved.
General Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Identifies performance expectations, assesses employee performance/competency, gives timely feedback, and conducts formal performance appraisals/competency evaluations. Works with the employee to resolve performance problems.
- Demonstrates concern for the accuracy and quality of work, and takes steps to correct mistakes and improve the overall product. Motivates team, builds team environment, and encourages customer service as a priority.
- Selects the best candidates for position and situation. Displays fairness towards all direct reports. Takes timely and appropriate corrective/disciplinary actions with employees. Recognizes and rewards employees based on performance. Addresses complaints and initiates strategies to manage conflict.
- Ensure all staff are fully trained and capable of using technologies. Provides guidance as to areas where further development is required.
- Ensures staff reports incidents promptly and completely and/or corrects safety hazards as encountered. Demonstrates awareness of appropriate safety regulations and policies of the hospital in daily work. Communicates and enforces organization policies/procedures and ensures necessary resources are in place.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Leader Responsibilities:
- Interviews, selects, and supervises the activities of the department staff; communicates, interprets, and explains hospital policies and procedures, department objectives, organizational goals and budget.
- Defines department work methods and performance standards; prepares and discusses annual appraisal with direct reports; authorizes and communicates salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline, discharges and administers all other personnel actions for the department.
- Establishes reporting and approval procedures; delegates authority to assistants in order for them to direct the work of others; provides authorization for supervision, orientation, training, job objectives, performance standards and appraisal, personal development, safety, communication, discipline, grievances and other personnel actions.
- Provides for maintenance of appropriate records in order to assure that the quality, quantity and timeliness of work done can be documented; reviews and appraises the work of others within the department; reviews and evaluates departmental performance; provides updates to Administration of department progress and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities.
- Ensures compliance with all state, federal and accreditation laws and requirements; maintains professional competence of staff through education and coordination with senior staff; plans for short and long-range goals of the department in concert with the whole organization.
- Prepares, upon request, reports and special studies; participates in and contributes to management and professional committees at all levels inside and outside of the organization; keeps informed of trends and changes which relate to assigned functions.
- Prepares, plans and discusses the department budget to the Clinic Management team for review and approval.
- Complies with all established safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
- Identifies, initiates, manages and participates in Performance Improvement activities to support organizational goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
- Bachelor’s preferred
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
- IL RN License Required
- BLS Required
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years in healthcare field required
- Prior supervisory or management experience preferred
Computer Skills:
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Additional Skills:
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Capable of taking initiative to make decisions and is an advocate for change and improvement
- Excellent supervisor skills and ability to motivate a team environment
- Knowledge of state, federal, accreditation and regulatory agency laws and requirements
