Provides phone, clerical, and data entry support including insurance verification. Job Summary:
Performs a variety of general administrative support duties associated with the patient intake process for the Harrison Health Partners (HHP) outpatient clinics in accordance with established internal guidelines and procedures. Incumbents typically interact with patients directly at the front desk and/or on the phone to perform follow-up activities. Work requires knowledge of insurance authorization/billing requirements and privacy/confidentiality practices as well as knowledge of medical terminology and the patient intake process.
Essential Duties:
Register and/or check patients in/out.
Schedule patient appointments
Collect co-pays co-insurance and prior balances
Continually monitor and reconcile issues prior to patient visit
Distribute materials and responds to patient questions regarding routine billing and insurance matters
Collect and enter demographic and financial data in the patient’s electronic medical record
Gather/validate insurance information using routine methods and obtaining authorization for services
Education/Experience:
One year of customer service work experience is required. Healthcare environment experience is preferred.
